Purdue University Students Awarded $8,000 Fellowships for Washington, D.C. Summer Internships

WEST LAFAYETTE, IN – December 9, 2023

The Brian Lamb School of Communication and the Department of Political Science at Purdue University proudly announce the award recipients of the inaugural D.C. Intern Fellowship, a program designed to foster hands-on learning experiences and professional growth for outstanding students in Communication and Political Science.

This prestigious fellowship grants each recipient a substantial $8,000 stipend for their immersive summer internships in the nation’s capital. Coupled with dedicated guidance from faculty mentors, these students will undertake a transformative journey, culminating in the development of a capstone project that integrates their internship experience.

The 2023 D.C. Intern Fellowship Awardees represent a cohort of exceptional talent.

These outstanding scholars will participate in the 2024 Boilers Go to D.C. Summer Scholars Internship Program, benefitting from comprehensive career development resources and personalized coaching. Furthermore, each fellow will be paired with a distinguished D.C. alumni mentor, aligning with their field of interest, to further enrich their experience.

The D.C. Intern Fellowships, a collaborative endeavor between the Brian Lamb School of Communication, the Department of Political Science, and the Center for C-SPAN Scholarship and Engagement (CCSE), signify a commitment to nurturing impactful experiential learning opportunities for students pursuing on careers in Washington, D.C.

The Center for C-SPAN Scholarship and Engagement (CCSE) at Purdue University is housed in the Brian Lamb School of Communication in the College of Liberal Arts. The mission of the CCSE is to broaden awareness, expand access, and increase utilization of the C-SPAN Video Library in higher education through initiatives that support research, learning, and engagement.
